FAQs

We pride ourselves on offering a comprehensive Ride Calendar that facilitates progression.

Whether you're a new or experienced cyclist, we have Open and Club ride options for you.

You can register via Strava for Open Rides, while Club Rides are available to RCC members via the RCC app. By joining any of our rides and events, you agree that you have read, understood, and expressly agree to our waiver and agreement terms and conditions.

Message @rapha.brisbane on Instagram and we'll give our Ride Leaders on the day the heads-up to welcome you.

If you've joined us for more than three Club Rides, we ask that you consider joining the Club in an official capacity.

We also ask that you take responsibility of your own fitness capabilities and determine which route and pace are suitable for you before you join a ride.

If you're unsure, get in touch with any of the Ride Leaders via our WhatsApp chat.

We have several speeds for our Open Ride:

  • Lifestyle: 22-24 km/h average
  • Core: 25-26km/h average
  • Classic: 27-28km/h average
  • Pro Team: 29-30+km/h average

Our official Rapha Rides are staffed by our Ride Leader team. You'll always have a Ride Leader navigating on/near the front, and a Sweep looking out for you at the back. Let the Sweep know immediately if you're struggling, so we can keep an eye out for you.

We have set up our weekly Open Riverloop Ride to have faster groups go first, so that if you struggle with the pace of the group you're in, you can drop back to the group behind for an easier finish.

Rides specified as no-drop will regroup where it's safe to do so.

In the event of a mechanical, raise your hand, call "Mechanical" and if possible stop in a safe place away from traffic. A Ride Leader will ensure the group is in a safe spot off the road before assisting you.

If you've never ridden in a bunch before, check out our Ride Guidelines

Book your spot for our next Rapha 101 session, or join us on Friday morning for our Rapha Riverloop, with multiple speed groups to choose from and the safety and support of Rapha Ride Leaders - no RCC Membership necessary.

While our Ride Leaders are here to help you in the event of a mechanical, it is your responsibility to be self-sufficient on the open road as spares and supplies are limited. Requirements include:

  • A well-maintained bicycle with drop handlebars and clipless pedals (flat bars and flat pedals are welcome in our Lifestyle Group)
  • Spare tube
  • Spare multi-tool
  • Spare Co2/pump
  • Charged front and rear lights
  • AU/NZ certified helmet
  • Ample food and drink
  • Headphones/earpieces (even if they're not playing anything) are to be removed as you are required to hear calls and warnings unobstructed.

Absolutely not! Wear whatever makes you feel good.
