From the makers of The Ride Journal and North London Dirt, Superstore Wilderness is a new print magazine dedicated to the exploration and adventures in our edgelands. A collection of essays, photography and design celebrating the liminal spaces between urban sprawl and nature, examining how humans interact with these spaces by bike and by foot. Join the launch events this March, starting off with a launch party at Rapha London on March 2nd from 7.30pm and a ride and run starting at VIA on March 4th. Full schedule and details below. Launch Party | March 2
Join us from 7.30pm to celebrate the launch of Superstore Wilderness and be the very first to get your hands on a copy, and view an in-store exhibition of photography and design from the publication.
After drinks, we'll hear some words from the creators and contributors, followed by a North London Dirt DJ set.
Free entry. Copies of Superstore Wilderness will be on sale for £10.
Ride | March 4
Beginning at VIA between 8-10am and finishing at Rapha London, this 75km route has been made to show off the edgelands that are celebrated in Superstore Wilderness. We have tried to cover as many different types of terrain as possible, from cobbles and canals to singletrack in woodland and concrete paths. You’ll cross over bridges and under flyovers, close to, but slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of urban life. Ride at your own pace and take care for other people also enjoying these spaces. Enjoy these fascinating hinterlands that are on our doorsteps.
There will be mud, tarmac and everything in between so bring a bike that’s happy on all of them.
This route is self-led and self-supported, so whilst you can expect to bump into fellow riders along the way, ensure you're able to look after any mechanicals and bring enough food and water to fuel you for the whole ride.

Run | 4 March
Join the Tracksmith team for a guided trail run from the edgelands of North London all the way into Soho, finishing at Rapha London. Meeting at 8.30am for a 9am depart, we will begin the run from VIA Atelier along with the cyclists heading out on the ride. Unlike them, we'll hop on the Northern Line (bring an Oyster compatible card) to go north to Totteridge and Whetstone where our run will begin.
Our route covers 22km, but the pace will be sociable and no one will be left to fend for themselves (and there are tube stations near the route at 7km, 12km and 17km). Trails could/will be muddy, so trail shoes are a must and some kind of hydration is recommended – this is an adventure, not a parkrun!
Along the way we'll pass through rural landscapes, edgeland underpasses, suburban woodland, and urban parkland, all on the route to Soho. Whether you're a seasoned runner or you're looking to progress beyond the same old routes, this is a point-to-point that you'll want to run again and again.
Runners will also have the option to drop bags at VIA, which will then be transported to Rapha London in time for their return.
