Overview

Prepare to test your limits in the scenic tranquility of Longmen County in Guangdong, China - the stunning setting for our upcoming RCC FAR02 ride. Nestled along the Tropic of Cancer, Longmen is a true green oasis known for its tranquil natural hot springs and the emerald waters of Wanlu Lake, Guangdong’s largest lake. Behind this serene backdrop lies a rolling landscape of challenging roads and climbs that will put every rider’s legs and lungs to the test. Beyond the rewarding miles on the bike, the region is celebrated for its rich local produce - from fragrant, soft Longmen rice to pure, sweet local mountain honey, offering the perfect fuel to recharge after a demanding day in the saddle. FAR02 Longmen will be the last FAR event of the year and our final edition in mainland China for a while before we move our FAR series to Hong Kong next year. Don’t miss your chance to pin on a number and tackle these roads with us!

FAQ

Please make sure that you have the necessary travel documentation to cross the border between Hong Kong and Shen Zhen.

If you've never ridden in mainland China before, you will need to set up your Alipay or Wechat with a HK/foreign credit card. Cash currency is less helpful.

Option1: Take the East Rail Line to Sheung Shui Station, and then ride 10k to the Port. Route is here.

Option2: Take the East Rail Line to Sheung Shui Station, and then call Van.

Option3: Call the van directly from your place to the Port.

The nearest high-speed rail station is Boluo North (Boluobei) Station, located about 65 km from Longmen County.

While taking bikes on high-speed trains is possible, regulations vary and some stations in China do not permit bikes onboard. Please assess the risks and check local station policies before choosing this transit method.

The routes are designed for road cycling. The optimal choice for this journey is a road bike. The ride features hilly terrains with over 2000 meter elevation gain and a robust physical condition is essential for participation in either.

Please ensure you are in good physical shape to keep up with our schedule. Should you find yourself unable to maintain the pace and get dropped far away, you will need to return in the support car. While the pace is intended to be intermediate to advanced group cohesion, it’s important that we do not delay excessively for any participant.

FAR are non-refundable as we need to make the arrangement including local support and bus transfer in advance. But we are committed to assisting in ticket swaps should a member secure a replacement rider.

This is a RCC Event is exclusive to members only. Find out more about RCC Membership here.

We suggest you travel with us. However, if you have other preferences, please arrange your own transportation and inform your Community Lead (june.huang@rapha.cc).

There are 2 different route options for the FAR but both demand a moderate level of cycling fitness. Participants MUST be experienced cyclists with the road craft of knowing how to ride in a bunch.

Booking information will be shared with successful applicants via email.
