RCC ESCAPE CHIANG RAI

Overview

The province of Chiang Rai straddles the border of Laos and Myanmar as the northernmost point of Thailand. While often overlooked for neighbouring Chiang Mai, the province has much to offer for the intrepid cyclist in search of some of the best cycling in the region. With smooth and pristine roads running through seemingly endless rolling hills, the potential for adventure is limitless. Be rewarded with the most amazing vistas, surrounded by some of the best natural and historic beauty that Thailand has to offer. Participants will first arrive in the city of Chiang Mai before taking on a challenging but undoubtedly rewarding 180km ride to Chiang Rai. The route will take us on an adventure through the Thai countryside, with amazing sights and panoramas that few visitors to the country ever witness. More riding awaits us in Chiang Rai, as specially curated routes will provide an amazing opportunity to explore the historic city. As part of the Escape, we will be taking part in the Chiang Rai Road Classic, Thailand's premier sportive. Ride alongside hundreds of fellow passionate cyclists in an electric carnival-like atmosphere. Participants will have a choice of which distance they would like to take part in, from 25km, up to 160km. We will return to Chiang Mai to top off our event at the summit of Doi Suthep.
