Rapha CC x Melbourne Indonesia CC Inter-club Ride Around the Bay

Saturday the 14th of December, the Rapha Cycling Club will once again be joining forces with the Melbourne Indonesian Cycle Club, running a special inter-club ride down to Sorrento and across the bay, finishing at one of Geelong's favourite traditional Indonesian restaurants, Pondok Nasi Bakar . What better way to unite two incredible cycling communities. We will kick things off with a ride down beach road, stopping at Biscottini in Mornington for a quick coffee before rolling down to Sorrento . From there we will catch the ferry across the bay to Queenscliff then ride into Geelong for lunch at Pondok Nasi Bakar. The ride is open to everyone, please sign up for a ticket so we can allocate ride leaders accordingly to make sure everyone is safe. Meet: Luna Park Meeting time: 6.15am Ride departure time: 6.30am Estimate arrival time at Pondok Nasi Bakar Geelong: 1pm Estimate event finish time: 2.30pm - 3pm Route options, please download the route and have it available on a device; Geelong + Arthur's Seat: 143.7km 976m - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/44927945 Geelong: 135.1km 654m - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/44947461 Groups: We will split the everyone into two groups. The first group will head up Arthurs Seat, the second group will not. The two groups will regroup at the Sorrento ferry. Both groups will ride into Geelong with an average speed of 25km/h. Sorrento + Arthurs Seat group: 30km/h average Sorrento group: 25km/h average This ride is suited to intermediate cyclists. ROAD bikes only please and make sure you are comfortable riding this distance in a group setting at the speeds stated with minimal stopping. We will stop to refuel and regroup but we cannot compromise waiting with the ferry times. Bring spares, snacks, two bidons, ferry ticket and MyKi card.
