Overview

Build confidence in a group riding setting and meet like-minded riders in a safe and accessible environment at Centennial Park. Our Rapha 101 sessions provide a stepping stone to other Rapha rides, such as our Starters Group on our Rapha Wednesdays Open Ride. These rides are open for anyone, from any level of bicycle experience with any bike (flat-bars included) - no RCC Membership necessary.

RCC Ride Leaders are experienced members who organise and lead scheduled Rapha rides from Rapha Sydney. 


When you see a Ride Leader jersey out on the road you can be rest assured you are joining an official RCC ride with any of our 17 trained and endorsed Ride Leaders.

Ride Guidelines Briefing

8.30am - 9.00am

The session will begin with an introduction to group riding and road riding skills, covering the important elements of bunch riding from the Rapha Sydney Ride Guidelines, featuring a live, bicycle-less demonstration by our Ride Leaders to let you focus on the basics without any distractions.

Grand Dr, Centennial Park

Practise Laps

9.00am - 10.00am

We'll be staying within the park limits with a warm up lap, followed by a series of laps. 

We'll stop each time to refresh on a particular road-riding basic. 

Once we're up to speed, we'll head down the middle of the park (to practise stopping and turning as a group), as well as climbing up the Cat's Ears if time allows.

Coffee and Debrief

10.00am - 10.30am

We'll return for a coffee as well as a quick debrief and a chance for additional questions before wrapping up the session at approximately 10.30am.

FAQ

Comfortable, breathable clothes that offer a free range of movement. It can get chilly in the park during the winter months so long sleeves, a neck warmer or gloves are recommended if you get cold easily.

Swing by the Rapha Sydney Clubhouse and our friendly staff will help you get started with everything you need to know about cycling apparel. 

Yourself, your bicycle (please check it is in good working order prior to the session), helmet, water bottle, cash/card for any coffee/food.

Parking in Centennial Park is free, with on-street parking around the perimeter of Queens Park also available.
