FAQ
How do I get there?
For those of you staying at the hotel, there is free parking on site. If you have an open ticket and are travelling by car, there is on-road parking in Hope.
Trains run to Hope station via Manchester and Sheffield and are semi-regular. Please check ahead to make sure your chosen train has bike spaces.
How will you decide groups?
Groups will be decided on the day, depending on route choice and speed.
You'll have the freedom to choose your group on the day of the ride. All the rides will be non drop and led by a Rapha Ride Leader, so no chance of you getting lost and left behind. The groups will depend on route choice and speed.
What sort of terrain can I expect?
The Peak District is famous for its... well... Peaks! So you should expect to be climbing for a fair amount out on the road. That being said, there is plenty of rolling roads that will make up the distance between key climbs on the route.
We will endeavour to have at least two paced groups per road route however, we do ask all members to consider the self-sufficient nature of these trips and come with a reasonable level of skill and experience to get the most out of it.
Can I come to an Escape on my own?
Escapes are designed to allow RCC members to gather and socialise. Although there may be a strong number of attendees from the local Chapter or region, we welcome solo riders from further afield to join the ride and connect with their clubmates. Ride Leaders will be on-hand to help to facilitate smaller groups and differing levels of fitness.
Will GPX be provided?
