Overview

The Rapha Continental formed the basis of much of Rapha's vision for road riding; groups of friends taking on testing courses in beautiful places, exploring on two wheels what would be impractical any other way. In honour of Rapha's twentieth anniversary, we're giving riders the chance to ride a route in homage to the Yorkshire Continental, leaving from Kendal and spinning out into the remote and beautiful western Dales. For RCC members, we are offering an RCC Escape around the main Rapha Continental event, so you can make it a long weekend of riding with your clubmates, and get some extra miles in. Picture, a pre-Continental ride in the Lakes with amazing views, to warm up the legs to the local gradients. Add to that, some great food spots to enjoy over the weekend and a post-Continental Sunday ride to a cozy Lake District pub. For those RCC members, who have already bought their Rapha Continental ticket's, there will be two ticket option's available. One including, and one not including a Rapha Continental ticket.

FAQ

This is a road ride and thus a road bike will be the most suitable, or at least something which is comfortable for long hours on tarmac.

We'd ask you to prepare for hills. The routes features long and sustained climbs as well as shorter, punchy uphill segments. You should be prepared for double-digit gradients.

With Kendal being the biggest town in the Lake District National park, there are many options available close by. Either Hotels, Pubs, B&B's and AirB&B

On the Friday, we will be doing a ride around 65-75 km. Heading out west of Kendal, into the Lake District National Park. This ride will be tough, but wont blow your legs of ahead of the Rapha Continental.

On the Sunday we will have a shake out ride on 30 km's round trip to a lunch spot.
