FAQ

A fully functioning bike, and helmet. All types of bikes are welcome! You do not need to wear cycling kit (e.g. lycra or cycling shoes) if you feel more comfortable in casual or active wear. Bring a bottle of water and a small snack to keep you hydrated and fuelled on your ride, and ideally the tool your need to fix a puncture (pump, tyre levers and inner tube) – but don't worry if you don't have these.

A fully functioning bike, and helmet. For this ride, you will need a road bike with drop handlebars and skinny tyres, and ideally clip in cycling shoes, but this is not essential if you are comfortable riding long distances on flat pedals.

You do not need to wear cycling kit (Lycra) if you feel more comfortable in casual or active wear, but padded cycling bottoms are recommended for this distance!

Bring a bottle of water and enough snacks to keep you hydrated and fuelled on your ride, and the tools you need to fix a puncture (pump, tyre levers and inner tube) and a multitool.

For the Regent's Park laps, we will have groups to cater to every speed.

We will split groups up roughly into experience and ability, so the more experienced riders will ride together and those will less experience or those wishing to ride at a slower pace can ride together.

For the Essex ride, we expect to average at around 20-22kph or 12-13mph (Faster on the flats, slower on climbs).

If you're not sure what average speed you have ridden on previous rides, you can usually see these if you have recorded your ride on Strava or another app.

The ride will be no drop and we expect to accommodate a range of experience levels but please join only if you are relatively confident of being able to hold this pace for the duration of the ride. Ideally you will have completed a ride of this distance at least once before.

The Clubhouse has two modest WCs, but no showers.

Yes! There are bike parking racks inside the Clubhouse where you can park your bike and keep it within sight. Please note that bikes are left at their own risk.
