Overview

Join us for Escape Kent. Located in Northwest CT, 90 miles north of New York City, this historic town is nestled in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains. You will embark on a challenging 73 mile ride with a healthy amount of gravel and more than 6k feet of climbing. As you navigate winding trails and steep inclines, the views of the rolling hills and breathtaking backdrop will keep you moving along. This event is exclusive to RCC members.

The start of the day

On May 4th, we'll meet at 8:30 am in the parking lot for the American Machinery Museum in Kent, CT.  Folks will check in at the Rapha tent and get their bikes dialed for the day.  We will have coffee on site and some small baked goods to fuel for the ride ahead. There is a SAG vehicle you can put a bag in. We will have a pre ride talk and head out on our route.

The Ride

Once you're out of the gate, you'll begin your ride into the beautiful town of Kent, CT and all its neighboring hamlets. Expect climbs and beautiful views aplenty, with the SAG vehicle close behind for any of your fuel and hydration needs. We will post up around mile 50 so folks will have a chance to refuel before the last 20 miles back to Kent.

The Finish

We'll welcome you back in after your ride with some food and drink. You'll be free to hang out, enjoy the atmosphere and celebrate a challenge conquered.

FAQ

The Kent route features long and sustained climbs as well as shorter, punchy uphill segments. 

Comfort is a king so you choose you should ride something which you will feel comfortable on all day.  The tire recommendation would be 30 to 32mm.
